Psychotherapy gives individuals an opportunity to dive into
the stories of their lives and do the hard work of healing in a safe, non-judgmental environment. It can involve taking emotional risks
and revisiting diﬃcult experiences in your past which can
temporarily lead to an increase in diﬃcult and unpleasant emotions. Sometimes people feel worse before they feel better,
and sometimes positive personal growth can create other life changes that were unintended and unexpected.
This work can have many benefits including a better understanding
of yourself, healing from the past, increased positive coping strategies, improved relationships, clarification of values and goals, and post-traumatic growth, among others.
Psychotherapy is a transformative process that takes time
